Bosnia and Herzegovina records trade deficit of 10.47 Billion BAM in first ten months

In the first ten months of 2024 (January–October), Bosnia and Herzegovina recorded exports worth 13.39 billion BAM, marking a 4.8% decrease compared to the same period in 2023. Imports, on the other hand, amounted to 23.87 billion BAM, representing a 3% increase year-on-year.

The export-to-import ratio for this period stood at 56.1%, while the country’s foreign trade deficit reached 10.47 billion BAM.

Trade with CEFTA Countries

Exports to CEFTA countries during January–October 2024 totaled 2.28 billion BAM, reflecting a 13.1% decline compared to the same period in 2023. Imports from these countries increased by 3.6%, amounting to 2.83 billion BAM. The export-to-import ratio with CEFTA countries was 80.5%.

Trade with the European Union

Exports to the European Union in the first ten months of 2024 amounted to 9.86 billion BAM, showing a 4.6% decrease compared to the same period in 2023. Meanwhile, imports from EU countries increased by 4.3%, totaling 14.18 billion BAM. The export-to-import ratio with the EU was 69.5%.
